The Atlas is a navigational tool that displays local information on a specific World. When originally crafted, the Atlas is unconnected to any World by once it has been held in a Citizen's hand and activated, it becomes forever connected to the World on which it was activated.
By default, the Atlas will display the local geography around the Citizen. In addition, an Atlas can be combined with another Item to display a heat map of the location of any resources pertinent to that Item. Eligible Items that can be combined with an Atlas include at least the following.
- Ore and Rough Gems will reveal where Seams that drop that Item are located
- Plant Drops will reveal where Plants that drop that Item are located
- Warp Augments will reveal Plots
Note that only the relative density of the resource projected on the World surface is revealed in an Atlas. Actual altitude or elevation of the resource is not shown.
The Item combined wit the Atlas can be removed by using the Drop (X on PC) control when the Atlas is selected in the Inventory.
